Documented December - Day Twenty Five - The Big Day - Carol

Good afternoon from Glasgow, and a very Merry Christmas to you and yours.

At this time of day our dinner preparations will be well underway, isn't that one of the best parts of Christmas? The dinner with all the trimmings?

For me Christmas has never been about what is under the tree but more about who is with you, and who you will be spending time with over the festive season. Today it is just hubby, me and Aggie Cat(who will also indulge in a full meat based dinner), though tomorrow will be a lot busier as we are going to our nieces for a Boxing Day Buffet. And we can't wait to spend time with our 16 month old great niece, 2 nieces, sister and brother in law, my nieces partner and his parents. Of course there is always a wee touch of sadness as we remember the people who are not with us, and this year more so for a few of us as it is our first Christmas without a loved one. Light a candle for them and put it on the dinner table, or on the window as they are never far from our thoughts.

I hope you all have a fantastic Christmas Day full of love, laughs and memories!

Remember and pop back later as a lot of the team are posting throughout the day, hugs, Carol xx

Christmas Word Art stamp

Happy Saturday! It's Ria here today.

I'm sharing a very quick holiday card using minimum supplies. I'm also playing with the new stamp I got from Sarah called Christmas Word Art stamp set.

For my card base, I embossed it using an embossing folder. Then I used one of the sentiment in the stamp set and heat embossed it direct to the designer label paper from Sarah.
I added a red patterned paper behind the gray paper to add more Christmas color to it.
Final touch is to add a twine and sequins.

A closer look at the card details

That's it for now and I'll catch up again soon :)

Kraft at Christmas ....

Good afternoon, have you been following our Documented December Series of posts happening each morning throughout December? I know I have been, and  shall be spending my Sunday catching up with the last few days.
Remember you can join in and share your layouts with us  on social media by tagging them with these hashtags #documenteddecember and #sarahhurley.

However this afternoon, I (Claire N) have a card for you today using a set of Sarah's Winter Wonderland Christmas stamps, that can be found here in the shop

To start I gathered all the supplies that I wanted to use, I had an idea in my head of the colours and the effect I wanted to achieve. I wanted to stick to these supplies, mainly because I had just tidied my craft desk and and wanted to stay organised.
Below you can see what I chose to work with, and other than swapping the ribbon and adding a couple of dies and an embossing powder I managed to stay on track.

Using the two die cut Kraft circles I created two toppers by stamping and embossing using the bauble and word stamps. I layered the bauble topper with three hidden layers and silicon gel to create depth, and the worded topper is layered with shaped die cuts. The embossing powder is predominantly white and has blue glitter running through it so there is sparkle everywhere.

It was very hard to show the entire card, but you can see the focal of the twister card has a topper on each side of the centre panel. Also to lift the card and add a bit more texture I ran it through a machine with an embossing folder and highlighted it with  white ink.
Hopefully make a nice edition to someone's mantelpiece.

Thank you for popping by today, and will see you again soon. x

Season's Greetings.

Hello, it's Carol here today and I thought I would share a card using a set of Sarah's new Christmas Stamps.

I am not an inky crafter, as many of you will know, but the Woodland Christmas Stamps just screamed inky fun to me. Here is how I made it.

1  Measure up a piece of white card for your base, Use Versamark on the snowy border stamp, moon and stars and stamp them onto the card. Cover with white embossing powder and heat.

2  Ink up the tree stamps with green ink and stamp onto the border, I stamped them twice in different places to get a shadowy background effect.

3  Ink up the deer and stamp him.

4  Get inky with some Distress Ink and make your card look like a night scene.

5  Stamp your sentiment using Archival ink.

6  Put your inky scene onto a card blank.

Thanks for popping by today, have a great weekend, Carol.
