Birthday stamping and coloring

Happy Saturday!

It's Ria here today for a quick card as always.

I love making cards even with minimal craft supplies, one that you can create easily yet fun.

For my project, I used a combination of papers from Sarah and the Outline Alpha stamps.
I first stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment, then watercolor them by using gradation of orange and red color.

I used a die to make some scallop design at the sentiment. I again used a die to cut the green paper but I stamped the mini leaves on the background for some texture.

The stars are from Sarah's kit that I already have on my stash. I fussy cut them and layered the yellow and blue stars on top of each other.

For some texture, I also added a crochet ribbon along the strip and sequins along the patterned papers.

And a closer look of the details

Watercolor play

Happy Saturday! Its Ria here today.

Watercolor has been on trend for a while in card making. Its only lately however that I've been playing with watercolor and this card is one of them.

Today's card is simply a watercolor play using Sarah's Charm Street Cuties stamp.

Here's a quick look of the supplies I used, stamps and watercolor mainly are used.

First off is to stamp the main image in a watercolor paper.

I then placed the stamped paper into a wooden board and adhere them temporarily with washi tapes. This will hold the paper well and support the curling of paper while its all wet during the process.

Then I started coloring the face, I diluted the brown color with lots of water to have this very light brown color for the skin

I then moved to color the hair with yellow, red and brown.

The clothes and background were the last to color.

While my watercolor piece is drying, I later move to stamp my sentiment using the Alpha stamp sets. One good thing about these alpha set is you can customized the sentiment as you wish.

I colored the outlined stamped sentiment using the block stamp, this time coloring it off-set

And here it is after coloring using the block stamps

I then went back to add some hearts in the colored image, I find the lower left area to miss something so I added these two hearts using second generation stamping using distress inks.

And the final card detail..

and the full card, clean and simple.

That's it for today and happy weekend everyone!

Celebrate!

Hello everyone!

Its Ria here again for a birthday card tutorial.

I used mostly stamping, some coloring, a little bit of fussy cutting and just full fun playing with colors.

Here's a quick look of the items I used on this project

I started off with stamping the cupcake in plain white cardstock, then another to two different patterned papers. The plain cardstock will be the base later for my cut patterned papers.

I then fussy cut the cupcake topping and paper that I will assembly later.

For my sentiment, I made a custom one using Sarah's Outline Alpha stamps. I stamped it in a watercolor paper using waterproof ink.

Here's the complete sentiment that I colored using watercolor. You can use other coloring medium that you may have. I just wanted to play with watercoloring today :) I put a based yellow color then later added light shade of green, then darker green.

For the green background paper, I stamped it with the texture background stamp and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. I used a die cut to cut this green paper with stitching detail on it.

I then moved to stamped my card base using the star in Jaine's Cupcake stamp set using the Pool and Lime ink pad colors.

As the stamped area being seen later will be the sides only and on the slant cut piece, I stamped only the areas being shown around the base.

So here are the pieces I have so far..

I assembled the card and added some clear sparkling sequins for some texture and bling :)

And here's the full card

So fun! That's it for now. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Until then.

Happy Cake Day!

Hello, it's Carol here today and Happy Sunday to all of you.

Today I am going to share a card that I made for my card box.  It's always handy to have a pile of cards for those birthdays that creep up on you when your mojo is on holiday.

I used a brand new set of stamps that Sarah will be releasing in her lovely Online Shop soon, and Block Alpha and Outline Alpha Stamps to create the card. The background paper is from a previous AFOMFT kit.

I stamped instagram frames onto white card, then stamped the images inside. I coloured with Promarkers and with the fab wee White Photo Corners that Sarah has in her shop I co-ordinated them to match the colours of my images with the same colours of Promarkers.

I stamped out "Happy Cake Day" in black ink and used the Block Alpha Stamps in different colours to match.

I added some bakers twine and a cute cupcake charm to finish off the card.
