Create a Calendar, April.

April for me is all about the birds nesting and raising their young in the nest box we have up in the tree. I also have one of those houses on a pole which I was told would just be a feature in the garden and never be used as an actual nest box but despite being metres away from a busy main road and not too high off the ground they do actually nest in it.

That was the inspiration behind my stamp designs "Tweet Tweet" and "Nests are Best" both of which I've used here.

Celebrate Family

Morning all. Lisa here to share some inspiration. Unfortunately my Little Princess has been poorly so in lieu of a new creation I thought I would give you a closer look at my challenge piece…

For once it isn’t a card! It uses a fabulous stamp set designed by our very own Jaine Drake. The stamps are called Tweet Tweet and can be found here in Sarah’s Shop.

As I said before it’s not a card and I’m not quite sure what it is but I was playing with the stamps and had my watercolour paints out and this just kinda happened. I’m not into journaling or anything like that but I think I may pop this into a little folder and maybe add to it now and then, when the mood strikes.

I stamped everything in waterproof ink onto watercolour card. The central square included some masking as the coloured panel is all one piece. Here is a close up picture…

The colour has been added using watercolour pans and a water brush and I’ve also sponged some of the paint through one of Sarah’s stencils. The details have been added with a WoS brush pen, a ProMarker and a silver gel pen.

Tweet little birdies.

I'm up to June with my layout per month and this one is based around the pictures of the birds nesting on the back of the house.

I chose to use two of my own stamp designs to create the layout, Tweet Tweet and Nests are Best.

I stamped the border top and bottom and used watercolours to add a touch of colour. I stamped around where I wanted to place the photo's with a few other small stamps, some more watercolour paint and a bit of cotton thread.

The acrylic chevrons are also found in Sarah's shop.

A little 'Tweet' love.

I've just brought you a fun card which features my Tweet Tweet stamp set from the Special Editions range.

The background is made using the woodgrain background stamp pulled from a geli plate which gave a subtle patterned backdrop for the birdhouses behind the fence.

I know it's a lot of fussy cutting out but it was worth the effort and I enjoy it.
