Challenge 34 *Sponsored by Handy Hippo* Embossing

This week we are lucky enough to be sponsored by Handy Hippo! Handy Hippo is a friendly online craft supplies shop with a great range of rubber stamps and other card making goodies - including plenty of embossing folders and dies for the Cuttlebug. Their website has lots of information on crafting techniques, plus a great selection of free card project ideas to suit crafters of all abilities so please pop over and visit them!

They chose a theme of Embossing this week and have given us some embossing folders as a prize! There will be 3 for the winner and one each for 2nd and 3rd place. You can see them on their website here

Here is all the Design Team inspiration!

Lisa made 2 cards using Dry embossing on bra and pants .. flowers double embossed with irridescent embossing powder.

Jaine

My background has been embossed using an embossing folder and sanded lightly to bring out the texture.
Loved paper piecing the cupcake design.

I've embossed the background and some of the butterflies.
The butterfly punch fits beautifully over the printed butterfly design!

I have embossed the balloons using the Houndstooth embossing folder from ProvoCraft.

I also embossed the cardbase using my scor-buddy.

Sarabeth

I used 3 different embossing folders to accent
the Sarah Hurley Butterfly Digis and kept it simple.

Clare

I used Sarah's stamps and snowflake and embossing folder

Melly

Claire S

I inked the tag, embossed with an embossing folder, then added one of
Sarah's Vampire Doodle Dolls coloured with Pro-markers.
I also added some ribbon & a button to embellish.

Camilla

I have used embossingpowder at 5 elements on this layout.

Taraleigh

I used dry embossing along the bottom edge and used heat embossing with the clear butterfly elements.

Amanda

I used heat embossing to create the distressed and shadowed effect around the grey background cardstock, using black distressing ink, along with black sparkle embossing powder. I also used heat embossing to create the club, diamond, spade, and heart stamps.

Sizzix Embossed Friends with cupcakes from the 'Wonderland' CD

  1. It just so happens that I was playing with my embossing machine today! I made a photo album, as a New Baby gift, so I had to add a little decoration - I used my Cuttlebug stamp dies to emboss a cute little pram, which I then enhanced with pink artist's pastel, cut out and mounted on silk, to match the book. I love it!
