Challenge 92 - ANYTHING GOES

Happy May Bank Holiday :)  

It's Natalie here with the May challenge of ANYTHING GOES - I do love that musical :D 

So show us your crafty makes - it can be anything - remember if you show us what you create with Sarah Hurley products then you are also in the running for a fantastic seperate prize (see below)

I created this layout using AFOMFT February Kit. I've wanted to scrap this photo for quite some time but have never had pastel colours to work with. The peachy pink paper worked perfectly.

For my card I have used a number of inks to stamp the arrow out of the Stamp set Special Edition -On your Bike by Jaine Drake I then used the tricycle and sentiment from the same set. I finished off by using Sarah Hurley's Block Alphabet stamps to add the sentiment. I have made it for one of my tutees the whole Tutor group leave me to go on exam leave on the 9th of May :( Txx.

I have used papers and stamps from one of Sarah's A Few of My Favourite Things kits, along with Sentiments Stamps, paper piercing, doodling and a few UTEE Embellishments.

These amazing papers are from various ' A Few Of My Favourite Things' kits.....a favourite colour combo of mine. The stamps I used are from the 'Dream A Little Dream' Doodle Doll and 'Be Amazing' stamp sets (eyes only)....and for those that don't know Sarah has designed other sets in this range which you can also mix and match, it's so much fun!

I decided to take the anything goes theme literally and go with using the Doodle Doll Zombie Girl stamps for my project this month! I also used the Chevron Mask on my tag background and some Sarah Hurley papers for my brains and the paper piecing on the zombie girl too.

I thought I'd make a mini album with a sheet of paper from the March kit. More pictures to come in a later post.

I used Sarah's Be Mine scrapbooking kit for my card. I love the colors on this kit and I have used the same in some of my other card projects. For the heart, I cut it from the Snip N Stick embellishment sheet from the same kit. For my sentiment I used Sarah's Block Alpha stamp that I embossed in white, while the typewriter stamp is from the Be Mine stamp set.

I used a monthly kit with crafting software to add a sentiment to the typewriter paper, sized it to fit on a card then I matted and layered the image and papers from the kit with kraft card like the base card. I embellished with complimenting buttons.

I decided to liven up my organiser with files from Sarah's Portfolio in the Silhouette Store. I used the  Personal Organiser Set  and  7 Days of the Week File Tabs. I cut Organiser Set out on some gorgeous papers from AFOMFT kits. Full details on my blog.

Hi, I have used off cuts of all the papers from Sarah's 'A Few of My Favourite Things Kits'

The one card every year I dread-my son's birthday card! I can never find anything teenage-y enough but Sarah's moustache paper from AFOMFT kit is perfect! I added faux stitching around the edges,a plastic moustache embellishment and a badge,all from Sarah's shop. Then I found I'd ran out of wrapping paper so I used Sarah's moustache stamp to decorate a piece of paper. I'm pleased to say it was a success,especially the badge!

I altered a little notebook using papers, sequins, a lightbulb stamp and a lightbulb paper clip from Sarah's AFOMFT kit, and stamps from Sarah's Picture This, Alpha block and Home stamp sets

Something a bit fishy.

Sometimes I just want to play and see where it takes me and this page in my journal was one of those occasions.

I started with a couple of Sarah's stencils and some ink just to lay down a background. I used the hexagon background stamp and red Versafine to add a bit of stamping and dribbled some more ink from the top.

I already had the idea to use the Doodle Doll as a mermaid, stamping the parts individually onto scraps of coloured paper and the punched circles added to the magical scene.

 So what could be more appropriate to go with her than my own fishy stamp set  "Don't Be Crabby" from the Special Editions range also stamped onto paper scraps.

Paperclips with a difference.

Hi, it's Carol here today to share some sparkle today.  As some of you will know I have a Cameo machine and I really trying to overcome my "Machine Fear", and what better way to do this by making some great paperclips for my organiser. I have made some other pretty things for it too, but you will see them when our new challenge launches on the 5th of May ;-) 

All of my clips are from Sarah's Portfolio in the Silhouette Store and can be downloaded straight away, ideal if you are impatient like me. I decided to use thick glittery card to cut them out, after all you can never have enough glitter in your life.

I used the following files; 

Set of 2 moustache paperclips

Set of 2 moustache and top hat paperclips

Set of 2 star and heart paperclips

Set of 2 heart paperclips

Documented 365 - NEVER TOO LATE

Hi it's Clare here today and my post proves that it's never too late to start Project Documented 365.

Ideally I should be showing you an up to date page for 2014 but it's just never happened. In fact I hadn't even started it, still finishing off last year and we are almost into the month of May eeeeeeeek! So I hid in my craftroom which was perfect as I couldn't see the mountain of washing that was awaiting lol

I hadn't a colour scheme in mind, I just sifted through my stash and when I saw the blue and white journal card it seemed perfect. I pulled together this to get me started.

The only addition here is the text 'JANUARY' from Sarah's stamp set which proves that you can keep you layouts simple and perfect for when we are playing catch up!

A little tip, you don't always have to use photographs and you can still create fab layouts.

Here I just used text and die cuts.

Paper Piecing with Clare

Hi and a big welcome to the Sarah Hurley 365 Blog.

Whether you are a paper piecing addict or some who hasn't never tried it and would like to Sarah has the perfect range., her girl stamps. I am showcasing the DREAM A LITTLE DREAM  and BE AMAZING (eyes only)stamp set...really love this!

So first of all I had a rummage through my scrap paper box and choose the following. I have to confess I am rather drawn to the bright colours and patterns on these ones. They have all came from various 'A FEW OF MT FAVOURITE THINGS' kits.

I stamped the girl image onto white card

The sentiment was also stamped onto white card the matted and layered onto patterned paper

I then stamped the girl again, this time onto patterned paper and I also stamped one of the hats from the set. Both were then cut out and 3D foam squares were popped onto the back for dimension.

I then made some embellishments, some were cut by hand, others were by punch or a created using die and my bigshot.

I didn't want any white showing underneath the paper piece so I decided to colour it in. I used a turquoise PROMARKER which was just perfect. I also coloured her shoes in the same colour. The hair was coloured again using PROMARKERS (cinnamon, caramel & sandstone). Using light fawn FLEXI MARKER I coloured in her skin.

It was now time to add the paper piece.

I spent a little time moving all the bits and pieces around the paper and here is the final result.

Bold Butterflies

Morning All. It's Lisa here today and I thought I would share a bit more detail on my project I created for this months Challenge theme, which is Stitching. The challenge is open until midnight on Sunday so why not have a crafty weekend and show us what you create.

I have been having a little play with the A Few of My Favourite Things Kit again. This bold paper was from January's kit and I've hand stitched the edge as my sewing machine broke just before I made this. Oh well, my hand stitching is neater than my machine stitching anyway! Here is my card...

I've added a shimmer to the patterned paper with a Wink of Stella pen and stamped butterflies to each spot. My embellishments were made with UTEE and a Melt Pot.

The large butterflies have been stamped off the edge of the central panel. I used the Wink of Stella Pen to drag the ink and give them a watercolour look.
