Challenge 86 - Bonfire Brights

Hi! It's Sharon here and it's my first challenge! I've chosen Bonfire Brights for the theme this month. 

I love Bonfire Night, the bright reds, oranges and yellows of the bonfire and the multi coloured fireworks.

I made an ATC for the challenge. The papers are from the fabulous Journaled365 kit which I printed out and coloured with Aquatone pencils. The sentiment is from Sarah's Stars Stamp set. Couldn't resist a bit of sparkly glitter as sparklers are the highlight of my bonfire night! (Please make sure you all stay safe on Bonfire Night by following the firework safety code-sorry, that's the nurse in me speaking!)

For my Bonfire Bright card I have used the pennants from the Hello Sunshine for my bonfire/firework and the leaves from Be Amazing which have been coloured and stickles added

and the stars from Wish upon a Star which were embossed then I added assorted gems.

I've used the chevron stripe stencil  with texture paste on my journal background, the Doodle Home stamps set and stars, sequins and journaling cut-outs from Septembers Kit club.

I made this card using images and sentiments from Sarah's Doodle Home stamp set. The designer paper is from the Monthly Kit Club which I love! Punched stars, a memory box fence die and candy dots coloured using a black Promarker was added to add more detail.

I created a bookmarker in Photoshop using Sarahs Spook Street kit. I love this kit and love that it works for me all year around! I used the adorable Angelica Strange on it and added in lots of elements from the kit, keeping it in theme with bonfire bright colours - so much fun!!

I made a shaker card using stamp combinations from Sarah. For the background I used the Large Texture stamp while the sentiment is from the Sentiments Stamp. I also stamped the stars from the Wish Upon a Star Girl stamps. I highlighted the bonfire color yellow orange which are the stars. For the papers, I used A Few of my Favorite Things Vol.1 8x8 paper collection

I used Sarah's My Favourite Things kit to create this layout, the edges of all the papers have been distressed using an emery board. I also added some black Stickles onto the Thickers to add some extra sparkle.

I used the new Woodland Wonders Under the Stars digi kit to make this pretty card.

I have used Sarah's 'Few of my Favourite Things' kit box from August to create this card.

 I was inspired by the bright colours that reminded me of fireworks, and the embers that glow at the end of the evening on bonfire night.

I used Sarah's latest kit to create this bright, funky card.

I used Ranger Inks mixed with water to create the background.











I cut into the papers to make a banner and cut out the small flowers.


 I used Sarah's Butterfly Stamps and sprinkled some sequins.

I have used star paper from the Back to School kit and woodgrain paper from the Say Cheese kit. The sentiment is part of Sarah's Handdrawn Roses stamp set.

Challenge 85 - Halloween

Hi, it's Carol here and it's my first time of hosting the challenge so please be gentle with me. For the theme of the challenge I picked "Halloween", it is a time of the year I love. I mean what is not to love about witches, ghosts, sweeties and things that go bump in the night.

For my creation this month, I used stamps from the Angelica Strange and Malcolm Strange sets which are part of the fabulous newly launched Spook Street.It is perfect for this time of year, but versatile enough to use all year round.  I decided to try something different for my card and got super inky for my card, and used emboss resist techinique*faints* both of which I very rarely do.

For my Halloween themed project this month I decorated a little treat bag for Halloween goodies! I used Sarah's Large Crackle Background stamp and stamped it on orange card stock. A ticket from one of the Sarah Hurley Digital Kits, distressing and a few other embellishments finished it off nicely!

My Halloween card uses Sarah Hurley's new 31 Spook Street digi scrapbooking kit. I adore all the embellishments, papers and digi stamps, well almost everything in this set. I used Angelica Strange, the little girl in the set plus Muffin- the cat and other spooky cute elements, bats, pumpkin and others.

I've made a scrapbook layout using the papers from the 31 Spook Street collection. I added a splash of rich gold Cosmic Shimmer Ink to the cardstock, then just used 3 strips of paper from the kit which I distressed with an emery board. I added 2 journaling spots from the kit & some white fabric Thickers.

I have created the scene by printed and decoupaging elements from the new cute Halloween kit
 31 Spook Street, I just adore the little owl.

This month I used some papers and the Star Gazer stamp from Sarah's latest 'Few of my Favourite Things' kit. The image is made up of various stamps...Dream a Little Dream and 'Be Amazing'. I created the crackling effect on her dress using one of the mini background stamps. More details are on my blog.

This month I have used a witch image from the Witching hour which I have coloured with Promarkers. I then covered the tag with papers from 31 Spook Street.

The element are all from the sticker sheet in the Witching Hour pack.

I finished the tag off with ribbons from my own

Challenge 84 - Autumn Glow

It's Jess here with September's challenge - Autumn Glow
I love this time of year, still hanging on to the warm sunny days of summer but that lovely feeling as the leaves begin to change and show off their golden tones.

Whatever your Autumnal inspiration is - we want to see your creations!

For my Autumn Glow project, I've used papers from the Farmers Market and Scrap Basics Earth Tone Polka Dots Digital Kits to make my sun-ray background.  I've then punched leaves in the same papers to create an Autumn Wreath.  I've added die cut shapes and ribbon too.

For my Autumn Glow card I have used the leaf from the Odds and Ends set

and the small leaves from the Be Amazing set to make flower which I have stamped in assorted inks and coloured with a waterbrush. The sentiment is from the New Sentiment set. For more instructions on the card please check out my blog.

For my project I have used the Hexagon mask using orange ink over orange card to give a two tone orange 'glow'! I also used some Burlap from a Sarah Hurley kit and some wooden shapes from the Sarah Hurley range too. I used texture paste through a small hexagon stencil on the Kraft tag and when dry swiped over it with two colours of orange inks for more warm glow.

I used a piece of green spotted paper from the Picnic in the Park digital kit and the stamps are all from the In the Garden stamp set.

I decided to make an "Indian Summer" themed Autumn card. I made a little Indian Girl, complete with feather headdress using "Be Amazing Girl Stamps", stamped her dress with stars from "Wish Upon A Star Girl" set. I made the background and the banner for the sentiment using "Borders, Corners & Banners" set. The sentiment came from "Sentiment Stamps". Full details are on my blog.

I have random piece of felt in my craft stash and most of them reflect the colours of autumn. I then took the autumn leaves in Sarah Hurley's Farmers Market Autumn Fall themed digital scrapbooking kit as pattern to cut the leaves. I also used combined digi papers from Farmers Market and the Bookworm digi kit, you will see this in the bottom strips of paper and the background.

I coloured a manilla tag using Dried Marigold & Scattered Straw Distress Inks, then ran it through a Tim Holtz Alteration Embossing folder & rubbed Cinnamon Stickles all over the tag. I used the Dream a Little Dream Doodle Doll stamp & coloured her in using Blush, Spice & Saffron Promarkers. I stamped the Be Amazing from the Be Amazing Doodle Doll stamp set & attached it to the tag, I also added some Hero Arts felt leaves& some little gems. I added on of Sarah's teeny chipboard starts to the girls dress & a butterfly to her hair.

I made a tag using Sarah's New Home and  Mini Background stamps.The tag itself is a Sizzix die using white card stock and acetate. The acetate was coloured using Tim Holtz alcohol inks. For more details please check out my blog here!

When I think Autumn, my first first thought turns to squirrels and them foraging for acorns. So I have used various elements of Sarah's  repertoire, to create this mixed media card. The tag, faux washi tape and acorns are printed from Sarah's Farmer's Market Digi Kit along with the lettering. The background paper is from Sarahs range of 8x8 papers, and over stamped with three stamps (arrows, zig-zag and polka dot)

Challenge 83 - Texture & Dimension

Hello there & welcome to the Sarah Hurley Challenge Blog.

It's Claireliz here bringing you this month's challenge which is:

TEXTURE & DIMENSION

We want to see all your chunky creations, whether you use ruffled ribbon, texture paste,embossing powder or a full packet of 3d foam pads or whatever you like to use to add a bit of oopmh to your projects.

I used a 3d alterable theatre & covered it with papers from Sarah's A few of my Favourite Things monthly kit for July. I then used the chequered border stamp from Sarah's Dream a Little Dream Stamp set & some embossing powder to add texture to the outside of the theatre, finally I used the I {heart} the 80's stamp set for the main image, words & roller boot. I've added Stickles onto the roller boot skirt & trainers of the girl image, the roller boot & words are also coated in Glossy Accents & all are attached with 3d foam pads.

I have used Sarah's new Butterflies  stamp, which I have stamped into a triple embossed twinchie mounted onto a embossed layer distressed. I have also used the silhouette butterflies stamped in versamark and clear embossed then cut out. For more information check out my blog .

I've used my special editions Beside the seaside stamp set to create this card with a textured background and dimentional embellishments.

All the elemenst I have used for this layout come from Sarah's 'A Few of My Favourite Things' club kit from May, 'Caught on Camera'. To add extra texture and contrast I used an embossing folder on a couple of the journalling cards. Included in the kit was a balsa wood frame, a pin badge and a plastic frame, all adding to extra texture and dimension.

I have used three of the fabulous Sarah Hurley stamp sets. The Polaroid frame comes from the Stamp and Stitch! Snap! set and the crackle effect on the frame is from the Mini Textures set. The cute little sentiment is from the Wish Upon A Star set.

I had great fun altering a frame into a little mini notice board for this challenge. I used Sarah's Hexagon mask and smeared texture paste through it. I used acrylic paint to make the texture paste teal blue first. I then stamped with the excess on the mask over the rest of the frame. I used some ticket elements and some stars & arrows to embellish. The paper inside the frame is from Sarah's paper. I inked it up to age it and stamped Sarah's crackle background stamp over it. I used two of Sarah's journalling cards also inked up and stamped on to embellish the inside also.

I have been eyeing Sarah's Stamp and Stitch stamp set when it came out. I'm so glad to use this lovely camera in this month's challenge. I used a fabric (backed with cardstock) to stamp the image first then do my stitching with embroidery floss, then adhered them using foam adhesives. I silver embossed the Smile! sentiment from the Picture This! stamp set. For additional texture, I used a strip of fabric that I have in my stash, attached them in the card by machine stitching. All the papers I used are all from Sarah's paper packs.

I have used an interesting card fold and the super elegant Gatsby Digi Kit to make my dimensional card.  To add a bit of texture, I've created a little pleated rosette.

The red diagonal stripe paper, wood grain paper, wooden buttons and the documented badge are all from a selection of Sarah's 'A Few Of My Favourite Things' monthly club kit. I used 12x12 white hammered cardstock for texture and the buttons and badge for dimension.

I've used papers from Sarah's 'Say Cheese' Digi kit, Sarah's Personal Impression 'Baby Feet' stamp set and as I don't have proper texture paste I created some...see my blog for details.

I love Sarah's stencils!! I adore the chevron stripe stencil and have used it with modelling paste and inks on this layout.

I used Wish Upon a Star Girl, my new day book and a mix of journaling cards from some of my A Few of my Favourite Things kits. Of course I had to get messy fingers and this is where Sarah's chevron stencil and a bit of gesso came in handy!
